Weekend May 30, 2007 ~ 10:05 am

Posted by Julie in : Story Time , trackback

I could tell you about this weekend in words.  In fact, I probably will.  Eventually.  But I’m a firm believer in a picture being worth a thousand words, and rather than ramble on for oh, 14, 000 words and putting you to sleep, I’ll give you fourteen pictures instead.  They’re behind the cut.

This is how I spent Memorial Day Weekend 2007.  With my best friend from high school and her family in a belated birthday (Leenie’s was May 18) surprise that her mom (my other mom) sprung on us both.

EEK! There’s a monsterous rat in your yard! Wait, WTF was that? A beaver?!

I love the upsidedown pink pajama picture.

And the blue toenails. :)

And OHMYGOD–that swimming pool is INSIDE! Do these people not know that the pool is supposed to be on the outside of the house?

What a bunch of freaks…

(Man am I envious.)

2. Julie - May 30, 2007

In order: That is a groundhog. I named him Deep Creek Dave.

I took that from the loft looking down at the great room.

Now my toenails are sand-colored.

Dude, that indoor swimming pool was the bomb for water volleyball. No running to find the ball, plenty of playing the ball off the walls. And the margaritas. And daiquiris.

3. Vince - May 30, 2007

Holy shit that is the coolest cabin ever. That’s what I call a getaway weekend.

4. Lori - May 30, 2007

Gorgeous.

5. Aimee - May 30, 2007

A groundhog? Dude–he’s huge. I thought groundhogs were cute little things. That’s not little.

Um, I wanna go to this party house. Can we have a blogger party there? If we rented it next summer and invited all our blog friends, do you think they’d come?

That would be COOL.

6. Julie - May 30, 2007

Vince~It was the best weekend ever.

Lori~Yes, it was.

Aimee~We thought it was a dog or something at first (there is a lot of zoom on that shot) - Dave was massive. The place is $2500 for a long weekend, sleeps 17. We’d just have to figure out how much per head, and then do it!

7. ESC - May 30, 2007

groundhog, aka future road kill.

looks like a MUCH better weekend than I had ;)

8. Aimee - May 30, 2007

Well, if we filled up all 17 sleeping spaces, that would be $147.00 per person, which is a great price for a whole weekend.

Of course we’d also have to consider food, transportation and airfare.

What say the masses–shall we attempt to do this thing?

Ooooohhh looks lovely! That house is amazing.

10. Jamie - May 31, 2007

Ok, for margarita’s, the glass must be upside UP… sigh…

But anyhow, the third pirate movie WAS the best of the three! AND they made room for a FOURTH!!!!!

OMG….

I think the 21 jump street repeats are on Fox?

I want to live in that cabin in the woods with blue toenail polish on my kicked back feet.

12. grace - May 31, 2007

Moon sand is awesome and the least messy sand I’ve ever seen. Looks like you had an awesome weekend.

13. Julie - May 31, 2007

Grace~It wasn’t too messy until the kids decided they wanted to see if it really did float. Then suddenly it was everywhere. Everytime you turned around, there was another chunk of moon sand.

Kendra~Me too - I had real problems when it was time to come home and re-enter the real world.

Jamie~That picture was taken at 10 AM. No margaritas were happening at that hour. But promptly at 5 every day…

Mafia~It was gorgeous. And such a welcome break.

Aims~Perhaps we’ll get one of the smaller ones…it will be cheaper.

14. Seth - May 31, 2007

Those damn groundhogs are everywhere! They infiltrated Clemson a few months ago.

Excellent blue toes!

15. Esther - June 2, 2007

The pool, the blue skies, the everything looks absolutely lovely

16. Lois Lane - June 3, 2007

I wanna do that!
