julz91julz91: Just met our new supreme overlord (i.e., VP). He seems nice, and more importantly, he seems to know his shit.

Gettysburg

It’s been a good long time since we had a picture post, so what the hell, right? My uncle Norm has been shooting pictures for as long as I can remember, so it was very cool to be able to discuss shots with him this weekend.

Civil War cannon, National Cemetery

I call this one “Look, Ma, I finally learned how to use the macro setting!” Cannon, Gettysburg National Cemetery.

Tammany Hall monument

Tammany Hall monument. New York likes big monuments, and lots of them. We were starting to wonder if anyone fought at Gettysburg besides New Yorkers because there were so many NY monuments.

Inside Devil's Den

Inside Devil’s Den, where I was once tapped on the shoulder by a ghost.

Confederate High Water Mark, Gettysburg.

Gettysburg

The milkweed or whatever in the foreground marks the spot where I believe I died in a past life – a casualty of Pickett’s Charge. Norm and I had a long conversation of this and he told me I was the second person he’d heard who had that reaction to walking around Gettysburg. He then lamented that he’s never had something cool like that happen, or even seen a ghost, and said he’s starting to think he’s not special because of this. I told him he was special alright. In a short bus kind of way. I love my uncle.
