I vacuumed my apartment tonight for…well, for the first time in way too long.  There were crunchy things on the carpet and I’m still not sure if they were (a) kitty litter tracked in from the bathroom, (b) cat kibble crumbs, or (c) none of the above.  I’m hoping it wasn’t c, because I walk around here barefoot.  Ew.

And less than fifteen minutes after I had finished vacuuming and even sweeping and mopping (kitchen and bathroom don’t have carpet but were just as filthy), the sounds of Kitty Armageddon float over to me from the living room.  There are fur tumbleweeds on my freshly vacuumed rug, floating in the breeze from the a/c.  Fucking cats.  Why do I even try?  Oh yeah, because I couldn’t deal with UCC - Unidentified Carpet Crunchies.

There is always dog hair tumbleweeds all over the place around here, it seems that the more I vacuum, the more the dog sheds. Sometimes, it’s best not to think too much about UCC.

Between 3 kids, and a semi-long haired dog, I don’t know why I bother either. Seems as though I finish the livingroom, do the hall, come back down and could do the livingroom again right away *sigh*

One does what one can……..

I just coughed up a furball reading that.

When the dogs start their summer-shed, there’s so much hair on the floors here we could weave a sweater. Ugh. I’ve actually taken to wearing shoes in the house just to avoid the unknown things…

First of all, it’s now the WWE. The World Wildlife Fund successfully sued them over copyright infringement. Though in your case, WWF might be more important.

If I vaccum my place, it looks good for 1 hour, tops. Between kids and pets, by then it looks like I never touched the place. I beleive we both need maids to keep our places in order. Free maids. Know anyone willing to take the job?

I have tumbleweeds too and UCCs, I just sweep and dont’ look. It’s better that way.

We have the same problem at the PS’ place–two shedding Malamute/Husky mixes leaves enough dog fur in a day to make a little kick-me dog.

Pand0ra~Oooh, my neighbor had a husky when I was growing up - there was enough fur to fill their backyard when she shedded, and it was not a small yard!

Nanner~I am learning not to ponder while I clean. Seldom does the thought “I wonder what this is?” ever result in anything good, particularly in the bathroom.

Vince~The fur tumbleweeds are multiplying. I am unreasonably annoyed by this. Fucking cats.

Aimee~If I teach you to spin, you could probably make yarn and then make a sweater out of the yarn. ;)

Kendra~I have an ointment for hairballs. Want some? ;)

KC~I guess if we didn’t do it, we would be up to our hairballs in UCCs and fur tumbleweeds.

Jenn~Does your dog let you vacuum him? Sometimes I think that’s the best solution. Unfortunately, the cats are afraid of the vacuum. And really the fur tumbleweeds only come from when they are in a wrestling match pulling chunks of fur out of each other… Damn.

A sweater for the dog so he can wear his own fur in the winter? That would be kind of funny!
