Finished July 23, 2007 ~ 10:24 am

Posted by Julie in : Reviews , trackback

I spent 10 hours in the park on Saturday for Samang’s blessing, another five in the park yesterday for the “let’s get rid of some more of this food” party, and Rick came over last night.  But I still managed to finish Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by 11:30 last night.

So, so good.  I laughed, I shed copious amounts of tears, and in the end, I was right.  On one count, at least (and no, I’m not going to tell you which count, but if you know me, you can guess).  I think this is the best book of the seven, and Jo has done an amazing job at tying up all the loose ends in the series.  You have to stand in awe of the imagination of this woman.

I can’t wait until Samang is old enough for us to read these books to her!

I’m up to the wedding. Unfortunately, I don’t have 12 or 13 hours straight to devote reading.

Alas.

Vince~…earwax. Oh, wait, that’s just my favorite quote from the first book. ;) I stole my reading time in bits and pieces this weekend. I’m a fast reader, so it worked, but what I really want to do is be able to sit down and read it, start to finish.

Kimmi-san~I will call you tonight…wait, do I have your home phone on my cell? I know I have your cell number, but you never have that on. Email me!

I felt satisfied with the ending, too. But more because I was RIGHT! I GUESSED IT! But I avoided all media about 3 days before the book came out so nobody could attempt to SPOIL IT! WHO wants to DO that?

Anyhow, as I keep telling people, I’m off to start it over again from number one!

YES! Yeah, one more person to talk to the book about! I cried and I laughed and I was devastated.

*snort* earwax… that was a good one.

PLEASE do NOT post any spoilers yet Julie! My eldest has first dibs on the book, and as of yet she’s still only about 1/2 way through ( not a fast reader *sigh*.
I get the thing next- and I AM a fast reader. I anticipate getting through it by next weekend- then my dear- we’ll talk ;-)

KC~Okay, let us know when you’ve gotten through it and there will be a huge post discussing it. And it will all be behind a cut so that those who haven’t read it yet don’t get spoilers. :)

Inanna~Tell me that “Alas…earwax.” isn’t one of your favorite Harry Potter quotes of all time. You can’t, can you?

Foundme~As soon as I am done reading all these flippin’ scripts, I am starting at book one and working my way through as well. I will be very happy to see August 3! And this time I will go through notebook in hand.

I kinda wish the epilogue was a little longer. But otherwise, I LOVED the book. And I was so wrong about Snape.
