How many thirtieth birthdays do you get?
I like it. I say doooo eeeet!
I always liked that cover.
Of course, if you decide against it, you could always get the Queen coat of arms as a tattoo. But that would be BIIIG, wouldn’t it?
Retro~Exactly. Know any good tattoo places in the city? I know there are a ton of them, but I want it done by someone good so that in 10 years it hasn’t bled together. Unlike my Def Leppard tattoo.
Aims~You realize that I will have it by the next time I see you?
Vince~I actually have a sweater I bought at GAP with that album cover on it. I always liked it, and then when I realized that it was the guys’ faces, I loved it. Oh, and someday, there will be part of the Queen coat of arms on me - the phoenix rising. That way it’s for Queen, but especially for Freddie (ala the Mercury Phoenix Trust).
Dude–that’ll be so cool! Heh. I’m going to see you and Sloth in October. And it’s already August.
I just got happy on a Monday morning!
Actually, I have one that I will find for you…lessee…

Denise does fantastic work. She’s pricier, but this thing will last forever, you know.
This is my friend Deb that she did:

I can find out some other good places if you need them.
Retro~Holy crap, that’s amazing! Where is Little Falls? How long does it take to get there? (And you are completely right about the thing lasting forever - I paid $75 for my Lep tat, I designed the thing, and they still didn’t do that great of a job on it. I want something that is going to look as good in ten years as it does when I get it.)
Aims~Yay for an October trip to Boston!
I’m pretty sure Denise comes to Brooklyn every two weeks. She used to, anyway. Email her and ask! She comes highly recommended.
Have emailed, waiting to see. Although Aimee is highly interested in me doing it on our trip to Boston. Know any tattoo parlors up there?
(Because then Aimee will have a built-in excuse to get another one of her own.
)
SWEET! I say do it. Very cool.
I got my tattoo at Stingray in the Allston part of Boston, by Brenda Wynn. It’s near a bar called Deep Ellum that Sloth and I used to go to, ’cause the food is great and my friend Jen works there.
…and where will this tat go???
Maybe I’m old, but what the hell do those letters say????
Katey~They’re not letters. They’re actually the faces of the guys in the Police, done in LED clock style. From left to right: Andy, Sting, and Stewart.
Seamus~Right between my shoulder blades. Low enough that when I wear a t-shirt it won’t show, but high enough that when I wear a camisole top, it will.
Retro~What did you think of the place? I’m still not sure if I would do it in Boston, but if you liked the place, I trust your opinion.
Nanner~
Aimee~ And it would be a bonding experience!
I liked it. They were very cool, and Brenda was super-accomodating. Shoot an email to Sloth, she can tell you how she liked it.

Sent Sloth an email, waiting to hear back. Did Brenda tattoo her as well? And final question, did you guys have appointments, or were you walk ins?
I called in the morning, and they gave me an afternoon time, but don’t hold them to it — I think I got out of the chair at about ten at night. They were having staffing problems or something, so Brenda was pretty much doing everyone’s work all day, which pushed back her schedule; that might not be par. They take walk-ins, though, but if you want a specific artist I’d call first. We actually spent most of the afternoon snacking at the bar. It was great.
