Old September 6, 2007 ~ 10:39 am

Posted by Julie in : The Girls , trackback

The Oldest was born when I was a sophomore in high school. Today is her first day as a sophomore in high school.

The Youngest starts seventh grade on Monday. When her father and I started dating, she was just going into second grade.

Samang turns three months old on Saturday. The entire summer has gone by in the blink of an eye.

Man, nothing makes you feel the passage of time like kids.

Sha. No shit! Emily’s almost seven already.

Tell me about it. Maverick is going to the same Middle School I attended - TWENTY NINE YEARS AGO! I walked into the place and very little has changed. Talk about a flashback.

Of course, nothing makes you feel really old like having your own kids (not so subtle nudge).

Aint that the truth.

Yes, but — interjected Polyanna — think how lovely it is to have been a part of these chilluns’ lives before they all could even drive. ‘Swonderful.

Well thank goodness I don’t have any. I wouldn’t mind if time stood a little still for me.

(I think Kendra just made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.)

Aimee~She’s not so Pollyanna-ish in real life. ;)

Jay~I don’t have any, either. I just sort of have them. But yes, I could go for time standing still.

Kendra-anna~And think of what a corrupting influence I will be in their lives after they get their licences! I mean, we already got the Oldest’s cartilage pierced because she’s been looking at my cartilage piercing for 5 years, and the Youngest wants a bellybutton ring like mine when she’s older…just think of the tattoos! ;)

Lefty~How old is Little Man now?

Vince~Nudge Rick, leave Julie alone. ;) Does Maverick have any of your old teachers?

Aims~That just does not seem right somehow. Who gave her permission to grow up?

8. Vince - September 7, 2007

No, though the assistant principle I had is now principle there. He’s got to be older than dirt.

According to B, you’re only as old as the person you’re feeling up. Which works great for hims since he’s older. So I guess while that would work great for Rick and B, not so much for either of us.
