Photo roundup. January 25, 2008 ~ 11:15 am

Posted by Julie in : Daily Grind , trackback

As promised, there were many pictures taken on my vacation. A lot of them were of my knitting. I will get to those on Monday, along with the pictures of my sister-in-law’s birthday necklace. Most of the Florida pictures are nature-oriented, because I have a ton of pictures from the last time I went to Disney I took a million pictures and what have I ever done with them? Nothing. Not making that mistake again. You can tell that I am the main photographer in my relationship with Rick, because there is exactly one picture of me from Florida, and it’s not a good one (Rick’s glasses and the viewfinder on my camera do not a happy combination make). That’s okay by me, I know I was there.

So, behind the cut, photos.

This picture was totally staged: Rick scared the birds into flight.

I went to Disney World and took no pictures of Mickey, just of birds.

Tempting Fate

I call this one “Tempting Fate.” And yes, it was that dark and misty at the beach that morning, this isn’t underexposed.

urchin

There had been a huge downpour the night before we went to the beach at Tampa, and all sorts of cool things had washed up, including this urchin. Cruelly, I only had a half hour on the beach before we had to get to the airport. It was over way too soon.

I don’t normally notice birds. You make me appreciate the plumed friends among us.

2. grace - January 25, 2008

I love them all. Tempting Fate might be my favorite, though.

Grace~His sister-in-law took a picture of the two of us while he had his arm up to attract seagulls. I believe my exact words were “If a seagull craps on me and I have to go to the airport with seagull crap on my shirt, your ass is grass.”

Kendra~I started taking pictures of birds this fall for my brother, who used to be an avid birder but whose hand tremors really make using binoculars difficult. I figured I could be his binoculars. It turns out that birds are fun to photograph, and my brother gets a kick out of being able to identify them for me.

Great pics m’love! But I no longer look like that. Bill gave me a haircut this morning and now I look like black and white file footage from the 30’s. - Don’t worry - the bald spot in front of my right ear will grow in…

Not sure the significance of the bird thing, but the pics are great. Rick looks like he was enjoying getting his picture taken by a beautiful lady.

So did you get him his beer or not?

6. Julie - January 25, 2008

Rick~Oh, Jesus. I can just imagine how you look, based on Bill’s haircut. And I have a feeling that he gave you the same haircut when you both were little, too. Am I right?

Vince~Of course I got him the beer. I am the beer wench. :)

Hahahahahaha! Laughing myself silly at Rick’s comment…

8. Inanna - January 25, 2008

Great pics! I almost can feel the lovely heat…

Girl, get yourself over to Joann.com. They are having a sale on Ott-Lites, I got my transportable one (not battery powered), for $50 off. No more knitting by the Christmas tree lights!

After weeks of instant frostbite weather - that looks like heaven!
