rook

The helix (outer cartilage) piercing is old. The rook (cartilage piercing right over my earhole, closest to my face) was done at about 7 PM tonight. Yes, it hurts. But not as much as the helix did. Amazing, how getting it done by a trained professional hurts less than going to Piercing Pagoda at the mall and getting it done with a gun.

I got my ear pierced at Piercing Pagoda! Got good and infected too! What’s the fun in having done the right way?

OMG and ouch.

Fun! And I remember getting my first holes at Piercing Pagoda! 12th birthday. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy about being in so much pain.

I say owww-weeeee… But it does look totally rock star:)

I only got two holes in each ear and it’s staying that way.

I know when I got my nose done it hurt, like my eye watered right away but later I was okay. However a week later, holy frig it hurt. I swear the darn nose hurt for 6 months. As for the belly, that didn’t hurt at all??? About 5 mins after I got some weird pain that lasted for 2 minutes. It’s been almost 2 years I’ve had it now and it hasn’t hurt or bugged me since those 2 dreadful minutes.

That reminds me–I have to find someone who won’t charge a holy Dog fortune to re-pierce my ears. Mine grew shut over the last 15 years.

Vince~I got my lobe piercings done there as well and no infection (although they really should have done them closer together so I could squeeze another one in down there). But the cartilage? Oh so infected. And everyone I know who has gotten a cartilage piercing done there has gotten an infection. Different Pagodas, different piercers, must mean using a gun to pierce is the culprit. Dammit!

Brighton~But awesome, am I right?

Grace~ I was ecstatic when I got mine done. And then I let them grow over and had to get them redone when I was in high school. And got the second set of lobe piercings in college - just as happy. :)

Lex~I knew it was cool when the Oldest told me that it was. It takes a lot to impress a 15 year old these days, especially when she’s got her own helix piercing. My belly hurt for three days because it kept getting snagged on pants. Oh! And right after I got it done, it felt like the bellybutton was trying to force the ring out! Weird. As for a nose piercing, I think that’s out for me. Too many allergies = too much touching of the nose. I can’t imagine blowing my nose with a stud in. OUCH.

Pan~I’ll do them. ;)
