Commencement post mortem May 29, 2008 ~ 1:14 pm

Commencement is over, bitches! That sound you hear right now? It’s angelic choirs rejoicing that my pain is over for another year. Tonight I go out to celebrate with my boy, and tomorrow I take the day off and do some of the grant writing crap I’ve put on hold for the last month. And read scripts, because I allowed myself to be volunteered for the playwriting award nomination committee at the theater. Oh, and knit, because Samang turns 1 year old next Sunday and I have to finish a sweater for her birthday party. Which, crap, means I have to go out shopping this week for a present for her. And since my mother is coming up the weekend after next, I need to get her birthday gift, too, since I won’t see her on her birthday. Wow, in one paragraph my life went from hallelujah back into the realm of stress…that’s amazing.

In the meantime, while it is still quiet in my office, I leave you with this thought: only at Some College would the graduates do the Wave in the middle of Chuck Schumer’s speech. I guess I should just be thankful that they mainly text messaged their way through the ceremony, shouldn’t I?

Nice to know that the celebratory mood was short lived. Hate to have you too happy. How would be able to read righteous ranting otherwise?

DId I catch it right that you have Wii Fit? If so, you suck! Tried to get it for the Wife for our anniversary and it can’t be had anywhere. Should have pre-ordered it, dammit.

Vince~Oh, I can righteously rant even if I’m happy. It’s a gift. And yes, I got a Wii Fit - I didn’t pre-order either, because I had no clue what the freakin’ thing was until the news started talking about it, but I hit Game Stop the morning after the pre-orders were done. The basic attitude was that if the people who had pre-ordered hadn’t picked up, anyone could have them. I endorse this attitude thoroughly. :D

Surely after commencement, the list of things you have to do should seem totally doable, right? Maybe?

Also, how do you like the Wii Fit? Is it worth getting?

It’s birthday season here, too, and I suddenly found out I spent all my money on ME! But I do want a wii fit, so maybe I’ll get one of those (ahem) for one of my kids’ birthdays!

Here’s hoping things settle down for you, but I think your one of the busiest people who still has a regularly updated blog I ever read!
