Those of you who are on Twitter or are addicted to Facebook status messages? I give you Plurk. Plurk is like a cross between Twitter and IM and chatrooms. You type in something you would like your friends to know, in 140 characters or less, and then they can comment on it. I’ve been Plurking with a bunch of knitters from Ravelry for two days and have been having a blast. Check it out. And if you do, look me up. I’m EvilJulie.

how is this different from twitter? I’m already ON twitter. why do I need ANOTHER thing to beep at me all day?

ESC~It is like Twitter in that you do a little status message, but then people comment on it so it’s like IM in that respect. I’m getting a lot of knitting tips from it, and reconnecting with knitters I’ve met before but haven’t talked to in a while.
I’ve just discovered it! Seems promising. My friends and I already currently Plurk, without the Plurk via Gmail tag line. Lets see if I can get them to cross over.
