The Eyes have it. July 21, 2004 ~ 11:37 am

Well, I had my two-month visit to my eye doctor today.  Let me just start off by saying that the sign hanging above his door outside is a pair of spectacled eyes, and I have never once been able to see them without thinking of a similar sign in Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.  “The eyes of Dr….”  I wish I could remember the doctor’s name.  Help, someone?

Anyway, good news from my doc.  Apparently my left eye is back to normal and my right eye is looking a lot better.  He said that I don’t have to come back until November, I won’t have to have the punctal occlusion, and as soon as I feel 100% back to normal, I can finally lay off the medicine.  I know it will be a while before that happens, but it’s great that there’s finally progress.  I mean, the whole corneal erosion thing started way back in October or November…it’s been a long time.  But the end is finally in sight (pardon the pun), so I’m happy.

And being able to come into work two hours late this morning also improved my mood. :)
