Imagine mosaic, Strawberry Fields, Central Park, NYC
Don’t know if I’ve shown you guys this picture before or not. For a while over the summer, there was a man who would decorate the Imagine mosaic with fresh flowers every day. Always on the peace theme, but different flowers and colors every day. Rick used to get pissed at him because he put out a cap for donations for decorating a public place. It was pretty, tho.
So Lori and I did hella shopping extravaganza last night. Old Navy had sales on some of the work pants I wanted, and I wound up getting two pairs of work pants, a pair of jeans, and a shirt for $98. Lori got a pair of pants and a shirt for something like $40. Then we moved on to Gap, and while there were no good sales in the adult section, we got some spiffy gloves in Gap Kids. They’re fingerless gloves with a mitten fold-over. Sometimes it’s good to be short - we can fit into kids’ shoes and gloves! After that went over to that fine Hell’s Kitchen dive bar, The Bull Moose for beer and perhaps the best chicken parm sandwich on the planet, and a lot of BSing. Afterwards I went to Toys R Us and got two Gameboy games and then to Virgin Mega to pick up the new Elton John cd. I didn’t need those last three items, but they make me happy anyway. I haven’t gone shopping like that in a long time, and it was great to hang out with Lori again. Our schedules are so whacked that we haven’t gotten to do that a lot lately, and it was a nice relaxing evening.
This morning, a trip to the eye doctor for my regular exam, and he said all of the roughness that had been on the surface of my eye is gone. I don’t have to go back until next year, only have to use the prescription eye ointment occasionally, and continue using Visine tears. This is a vast improvement from having doctor’s appointments every two months like I did for most of the past year.
Back to work…have to catch up with the stuff I missed while at the doctor’s this morning.
