Another Gate…because I have 6 zillion pictures of them. And you will see them all, dammit!
I think I was suffering from computer withdrawal the last few days. Aside from about five minutes on Wednesday morning when I checked my email from the conference and Wednesday night when I blogged, I haven’t been near a computer since Monday. Do you know how long that is? Long enough that I feel like I missed huge chunks of everyone’s lives. Yeah, I know that’s not the case, but it feels like it.
I’m back in the office this morning, wishing bad things upon my boss who waited until I had sent the most recent list of candidates to the appropriate Council members to say “Oh, I have this one to add. Why didn’t you tell me that you were sending it out? It’s not due till noon. You can revise the list and put this student on.” My responses (in my head, mostly) were: “I didn’t tell you because you don’t generally do audits. I’m an auditor, you’re a supervisor.” “No, it’s not due till noon, but I have other stuff on my desk that has piled up in the past three days that I wanted to get to - did you think of that? And since when is getting work done early a crime?” and “Well, now I look like a moron for sending out the list and now re-sending it. Thankyouverymuch.” Good times.
Rick’s stuff is now entirely in the new apartment, I’m happy to say. His friend Randy came over last night to help with the final few carloads, and now the place is filled with boxes. I wanted to put things away for him while they were over at the old place, but there’s wasn’t much I could do - I didn’t want to put things away and have him unable to find them. I’ll probably spend Saturday and Sunday over there helping them unpack when he’s there and can tell me where he wants everything to go. Right now, my back and shoulders are killing me and all I want to do is go home after work and sleep. I’ve been helping with the move the past three days after work, and I’m worn out. Plus, I need to watch my Tivo’d Apprentice.
Alright, back to work. Cos there’s a ton of it here.
