Okay, kids, it’s official. Travelocity was offering round trip tickets to Atlanta last night for $201, non-stop and all taxes included. I couldn’t turn that down. I bought the tickets, and now I am going to visit Leenie in September, and hopefully meet up with our Evil Science Chick while I’m down there as well. I am so incredibly excited about this! Leenie and I have been best friends since we met at high school orientation when we were 14, and it’s been too long since I’ve seen her. I can’t wait!
In other news, my DSL is apparently ready to go. I won’t be able to test it out tonight, though, because I’m going to see Hugh Masekela perform in Prospect Park tonight with Jordana, Thabiso, and a bunch of their friends from South Africa. We’re all bringing picnic foods, and we’re on the list for the VIP tent so the free booze will abound. It just isn’t summer until we’ve been to a concert at the Prospect Park bandshell. I’m expecting the place to be packed - these are free concerts and Hugh Masekela is one of the biggest names in African music - but the great thing about being on the VIP list is that we have VIP seating and don’t have to fight with half of Brooklyn to get a good seat.
So far, this is a pretty damned good day. *knock wood*
