Gah. March 30, 2006 ~ 4:53 pm

I checked the Def Leppard tour page a few minutes ago and saw that the Leps are going to be playing Jones Beach on Saturday, June 24.  This is good, in and of itself.  Jones Beach is a fantastic place to go see a band play, since you can spend the whole day on the beach swimming and sunning before you go to the concert.  And I wouldn’t even have to take the day off of work for the privelege.

However…they’re touring with Journey. Fucking kill me now.  I only break out the Journey CD in my more maudlin drunken moments.  I’m not sure I could stand a whole set of Journey.  And co-headlining means we get the abbreviated set-list of last summer’s Lep/Bryan Adams tour, not the two hours that I like to see.  Gah.

I am a huge Lep fan.  If you know me, you know this.  For God’s sake, I even have a Def Leppard tattoo.  My fandom is permanently etched on my body.  But a tour with Journey???  We’ll see.

Okay, so this is different. When did you change it?

In other news, the Fashion Diva and I bit one of those 5 star packages. Trust me, I had red blotches on my arms and my palms were sweating as I entered the credit card info. One concert for the two of us this summer. That’s it.

Steph~Last week. New domain name, new look. :) So what comes with the five star package, did we ever figure that out?

So why not skip the opening act?

KtP~If it’s anything like last year’s tour, they’ll alternate who gets to open every night. The good thing is that Jones Beach isn’t general admission, so my seat is my seat and I don’t have to fight someone for the place.

Like the new digs!! Okay, I love them! Your old blog was very hard to access on dial up so I’ve missed much of your happenings over the last several months.

So if Journey goes on first, you can hang out at concessions and have a few beers. If Lep comes on first, you leave early. Could be a win either way!

I can’t help but think if Queen were touring with another headlining act that I didn’t care for I’d probably still go and tolerate the crappy act.

Never cared much for Journey.
But I loved Def Lep’s Pyromania and High and Dry.
Not so much the later stuff… BUT, now when I hear Pour Some Sugar on Me… I think of you, so I like it.

Michael~Awww. That’s sweet. :)

Vince~If Queen were touring with Journey, I would go. Because I’ve only seen them twice and hell, it’s Queen! I’ve seen Def Leppard in concert 13 times. They’ll be supporting their new album of covers, so there will be new material to hear, and I will probably go and do exactly what you say (I did that for the Area 2 tour - skipped all the day acts and just went into the venue for Moby and David Bowie). You speak good sense, man.

Steph~That was one of the reasons I decided to move - I knew I was losing people because there was such a wait time. And then it was hard for some people to read when it did load. So this time we’re keeping it clean and simple. Let me know if you have any problems with load times, though! Wouldn’t want to lose you again! :)

yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw the ad in the local newspaper and saw Journey/Def Leppard. I thought, “WTF?” Is that not the weirdest tour pairing ever? Well, aside from Snoop Dogg and Korn and Linkin Park? I get the Korn and LP, but Snoop Dogg? Weirdness. it’s like they’ll put anyone together to get some money these days. Oh well. :) email me or something, I feel like we haven’t talked in MONTHS!
