Posted by Julie in : In Da Hood, Random Insanity , trackbackSpring has hit the NYC area, folks, and we’re all a little shell shocked by it. Jordana called me on our lunch hour to say “Holy shit! It’s gorgeous out!” Don’t I know it; I was sitting outside in the sun reading a book and eating Chicken McNuggets. Chicken McNuggets aren’t particularly spring-like, but the sprawling out in the sun with a good book definitely was.
The magnolia outside my work window is in bloom now, which makes me very very happy. I thought I had a picture of it somewhere, but I guess I don’t. Look at this instead and you’ll get a feeling of what outside is like today. (Note: that is not a magnolia. The tree in this picture is not actually in bloom yet this year. Sue me. I wanted a picture of spring and this is what I had in Photobucket.)
On the agenda for this weekend: ushering for an off-Broadway show with my friend Eugene tomorrow (ushers get to see the show for free baby), and then Jordana and I are going to spend Sunday afternoon at Grand Central celebrating Tartan Week. Woohoo! Men in kilts!! Rick has been informed that if I see his clan’s kilt, he’s getting one. Because he has verra bonny knees that should be ogled by women everywhere. But only I would get to know what that particular Scotsman wears beneath his kilt.
Alright, I’m planning on leaving early to enjoy some more sunshine, so I’d better get back to work. Or something that looks like work.

It was beauteous here yesterday as well. The Wife loves magnolia trees. Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend. And no comment as to what may lie beneath Rick’s quilt.
The start of spring is always special! Not to sure about the start of autumn, I can do without the nights turning chilly.

When I was in NYC a month ago the weather was pretty decent, a few cold days but overall very nice! Beside’s that’s where Lisa is! hehe

Esther~I actually love the beginning of autumn because summer is so freakin’ hot here. It’s a nice break. But the beginning of spring, when I can stop wearing a parka every day…that is really special.
