Posted by Julie in : Daily Grind , trackbackMy iPod mini finally shipped! They say it’s going to get to Rick’s place (I ship stuff there because he has a doorman who can sign for things. I don’t, and thus spend half of my life at the post office when things are delivered to my house.) on May 5th. This morning, it was in Shanghai, China. Except it was actually 8:15 pm there. Then it moved on to Anchorage, Alaska. Where it was 2:15 pm when it arrived. Weird how time differences work, innit?
And I have to wonder, since it’s coming from China, will it have SARS? (And yes, I know how politically incorrect that was. If you wonder why I would say such a thing, you obviously don’t know me as well as you think you do.)
UPDATE: Well, in the course of one short day, the intrepid iPod mini has travelled from Shanghai to Anchorage to Indianapolis to Newark to NYC. Ain’t modern life amazing? Just think how long that journey would have taken even 50 years ago. I envision Cinco de Mayo being spent uploading songs onto the iPod with margarita in hand.
