On the edge August 25, 2006 ~ 1:56 am

Posted by Julie in : Da Cats , trackback

I came very close to strangling the Piss Crusader about twenty minutes ago, when I went back to the bedroom to find that he had pissed on my bed.  Unfortunately, the Bed Condom ™ was not on the bed when he did that, so I now have all of the pissed-on bedding soaking in the tub.  Of course I only had a little bit of Nature’s Miracle left, and I had to use that on the mattress to get rid of the urine smell on that.  Out of desperation, I then poured some of my Bissel Pet Odor Remover on the bed as well, on the premise that if it gets pee smell out of carpets, it should also work on beds.  And I dumped a little bit of it into the tub with the bedding as well.

I’m going Sofa City tonight, and I am not happy about it.  The bed is covered with the Bed Condom ™ now to protect from further incidents, and the Piss Crusader still does not know how close he is to death.  I did a glucose test on him after I did all the bedding damage control,  and he’s at 97 six hours after his shot.  (For those who don’t know, this is a good number, not high at all.)  So the only answer I can come up with for his behavior is that he was pissed off at me for being on the computer this evening instead of playing with him for the whole time.  If he’s pissing out of spite…*sigh* I just don’t know what to do.  I guess I’ll sleep on it.

I wonder what Cesar Milan would do. I think he only does dogs though. That’s awful! No idea what to do about that.

Nature’s Miracle is good stuff.

The cat would be in major shit with me over that. Ours was doing things like that out of spite for a while (like crapping behind the tv). Good thing it was the Wife’s cat.

Vince~What did you do about it? Did the spitefulness stop?

Seth~I wish Cesar would run a cat bootcamp, I really do.

I had a roommate who’s cat pissed when it was… pissed.

She let it in the house one day, but didn’t feed it. So it cried so loud it woke me up. Then, while I was sitting up WATCHING IT, it looked me IN THE EYE and PISSED on my new bag!

If it wasn’t HER cat, it would have died on the SPOT. But instead, I rubbed it’s face and body all over with it’s own piss, and launched it OUT the door.

It wasn’t the first go around with that animal. I almost lost an eye because of her letting it in like that. Never hated an animal so much.

You must really love piss crusader to still have him in your home!

I think cats have to do these kind of things or they get kicked out of the cat union.

You can also use “Shout”, you know, the stuff for clothes, to clean up kitty pee. It has the same enzymes as those fancy “pet enzyme” cleaners. Trust me, they used it on my ex-neighbor’s place, it works.

oh, dude.

My best friend has a cat that pees on things when she (the cat) is mad about being ignored, or left alone too long (by alone I mean without people as there are two other cats). She gives her cat some sort of anxiety medicine for cats and it works. It’s called Amitriptyline. And I’m guessing it’s not very expensive, or my friend probably wouldn’t have it. Good luck!

make him sit in the corner! My cat has done this before, some slight like an empty food bowl and the next minute he left me a little “reminder” in the middle of my bed, ugh.

Yes, you need a Cat Whisperer. It’s the only way!

I like that “SOFA CITY”, sometimes I like to visit Sofa City with a nice glass of cold cider. I once cat sat and they pissed everywhere!!

Julz, the spitefulness did stop. It’s been a while, so I forgot what the overall issue was. But once we fixed that, she was cool again. I do recall it didn’t require a whole lot more attention or anything. It may have been due to the fact that I didn’t want her sleeping in the bed for a while, but that didn’t work out. Now she has free reign of the place.

ESC~I got to leave early because I had to work late on Thursday. Sorry!

J-Me~He has reached the end of the line. See today’s post.

Boski~And if they do them, they get kicked out of the house. It’s lose-lose for them.

Nanner~I’ll be adding that to the mix to get the smell out of the carpet.

Lori~Yeah.

Geewits~I don’t think this is anxiety, because I’ve gotten stuff for his anxiety before and it didn’t help. I think he’s just a little shit.

Esther~My other cat is an angel compared to him. And the other cat breaks things.

E-Lo~Or a Cat Strangler.

Lisa B~Yep, it blows.

Mrs. M~I had some beer in Sofa City this weekend.

Vince~Silly you, trying to keep a cat out of bed with you!
