Damn you, Bravo, for producing reality TV I actually care about watching!

Did anyone else think this finale was a little…blah? No real drama (Jeffrey and the missing receipts don’t count), no twists, no last minute projects to be made, just a really easy time for the designers. Bor-ing. I wasn’t surprised that Jeffrey won, really, since Michael’s collection would have looked at home on a whore and Laura’s was all evening and cocktail gowns (Laura! Wake up, girl! The judges all told you not to make a line of just fancy dresses, why did you think you would win if you ignored them???). Uli’s dresses were nice, but you can’t wear that shit most places in the world. If I wore those stripey patterney muu-muus in New York? I’d be laughed at. I don’t have the cash or family to pull off that kind of eccentricity. Jeffrey’s line was good, but you could pretty much see his win coming for the past five episodes as the producers put in more “Jeffrey as a human being” features and less “Jeffrey is a dick with no chin” features. Could there have been any more moments of Jeffrey and his son? I think not. “Awww, look, he’s a caring father! Who cares that he’s a complete asshole to everyone else?” Riiiiight.
In non-Runway news, I started my second Jaywalker sock last Wednesday and am now done with the gusset decreases. If I keep going at this rate, I just might be able to wear the socks to Rhinebeck on Saturday. Of course, there is the distinct possibility that I will be finishing the damn thing on the drive upstate, but I can live with that as long as I get them done and can wear them around as I shop for more yarn and fiber!

Yeah, you could smell the Jeffery win coming - I still think he’s a complete dick! Frankly, I thought his line was pretty disjointed and even though he had some really spectacular pieces some of his stuff was total shit! I agree that Michael’s line was hooker fodder. I think if Uli had mixed it up a bit she might have taken it. It was a good season 3 though!
I can’t say I was surprised by the outcome. Personally, I liked Laura’s style the best - what I would call refined & classy. As was pointed out, Michael’s stuff was too much along the lines of a hooker which part of that I think comes from his age and inexperience. Uli’s stuff was alright but c’mon unless I had a bod like one of the models, I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing it. Oh and what is the deal with everything having to be cut down to the navel? YIKES! As for Jeffrey, I have to admit that I do like his inovative/progressive styles but some of it like that green and white dress with the zippers just didn’t do much for me. Overall, I seem to feel like every season is getting less exciting. Not sure if it’s just the “newness” wearing off or what.
As for Top Chef, I’ve never seen it but I can tell you there is a chef show on TLC called Take Home Chef that I’m smitten with (well ok, it’s actually the chef himself I’m smitten with..lol). If you haven’t seen it and ever get the chance, I highly recommend it. Think of an Aussie guy with sort of Rod Stewart hair and looks kind of like a thrity year old cross between Stewart and JTE. The guy is HAWT! Ok That’s me off to get a bib hehe
