I’m getting Jesse and I packed up tonight for the trip to Pittsburgh and am more than a little tearful, I don’t mind admitting. The little shit might be a Piss Crusader, but he’s a cute one. In honor of that, I give you two videos of Jesse licking things and one of him doing a trick. Taken on my Sony Cybershot, with only ambient lighting, so they’re a little dim. Rick and I are staying at Mom’s place tomorrow night, then off to a hotel with Aimee and Nanner for Friday and Saturday nights. Both places have internet (or so the hotel promises us, Mom’s place definitely has it), so there should be posts while I’m gone. How detailed they’ll be is anyone’s guess. You know how blogger meet-ups go: “What happens in the hotel room stays in the hotel room.”

I have to admit, even though I’m no cat lover, I watched the videos. Shut up. I only watched because I’ve met the dude and know how much you’re going to miss him. They were very sweet and I hope you’re not too sad.

The “Jesse Flop” video reminded me of TWO of my cats. My sweet Sammy had to be put to sleep almost three years ago. I’d say, “Sammy! Roll’em over!” And he flop down and roll over on his back. The shoe thing reminds me of Jake. He’s 17 and is NUTS for “shining” shoes. We say to him “Clean ‘em up!” I know how much you will miss Jesse, but I totally support your decision to take him to Mom’s. It will work out best for both of you (or all three I guess I should say). I fall over every now and then, too. Time it properly with someone saying, “Mikey — flop!” and it looks like the same trick.
I know you will miss Jesse, he is a sweetheart when he’s not a piss crusader. But, we both know mom will take excellent care of him and you’ll have less stress trying to give the cat shots all the time, and not having to forever clean up piss messes and worry about a couch condom.. So, It will be bitter sweet, but in the end, it’ll be good for both Jesse and for you and Joe.
