Yeah.

I was wrapping Christmas presents when I heard the news. I thought the radio DJ was making a very, very bad joke. Now I wish he were only making a very, very bad joke.

He is sorely missed!

I used to like Paul when I was little…thought he was cute and all that… But as I got older, from about 18 on, it was John who moved me, music-wise and philosophy-wise.

Yeah, he was a real icon, come back John!!

Spider - I think any debate over who the real songwriting genius behind the Beatles was ended with “Silly Love Songs”. Or “Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime”

:-)

That very picture is behind me as I type in my computer room. If I began to write about my love of John and the Beatles, it would be a long-ass comment indeed.

Oddly enough, I’ve had the Beatles in my CD player in the car, driving Nate nuts with it, especially when I play Eleanor Rigby five times in a row, but I just can’t get over “wearing the face she keeps in a jar by the door, who is it for?” Although, of course, one will never know if it was a true McCartney/Lennon collaboration or not.

I’m just happy his music will never die.

Lisa~Ditto.

Nanner~That’s one of the Youngest’s favorite songs, I think because it is so *different* sounding from today’s pop.

Tot~It’s over my computer at home, right beside a picture of Arthur Miller. Two of my writing muses.

Gooch~EXACTLY!

Se7en~I wish he could. We could really use him now.

Jenny~John was just the deeper of the two. There’s a reason my favorite Beatles are George and John - both of them wrote songs with actual *meaning* to them. Unlike others I could mention.

Seamus~Indeed.

Aimee~I think that’s what everybody thought. The same as when Freddie Mercury died. If only…
