Hard Candy Christmas December 26, 2006 ~ 10:17 pm
Posted by Julie in : Fambly, Rick, Technobabble , trackbackThere were supposed to be Christmas pictures here. Really. Pictures of New York City at Christmas, pictures of all the mafioso houses decorated in Dyker Heights, pictures of how my neighbor’s house looks like Christmas threw up on it, all that stuff. But you have to forgive me. Because Mom gave me an 80 GB iPod for Christmas, which is only compatible with my PC, not my laptop. The laptop had all the songs for my iPod mini loaded on it. The PC had jack loaded on it. Thus, my computer can obviously only be used to do iTunes related stuff, not to upload photos to Flickr.
Lest we blame everything on Mom, we should take into account that Rick got me a Bose sound dock and a $50 iTunes gift card for Christmas, so he is equally to blame. Especially since he also took me to the Big Apple Circus yesterday, and so I wasn’t near a computer for two solid days. Rick is now also suffering from the tech time-suck as he figures out the iPod nano I bought him for Christmas (which he has just declared to be the best Christmas present he’s ever gotten - thank you, first freelancing check!). It’s been a hard Christmas here, people. A very hard Christmas. Hope yours were just as hard.

Sounds terribly difficult! I’ve gotten two Christmas gifts so far - a signed BSC poster and a five-sided star on a stand that holds a votive candle from Nate. I need to post a pic of that. You’ll like it, Jules. Hope you’ll be able to handle it after your hard Christmas.
So you’re saying you’re ditching us for your electro toys??? GEEK!
Seamus~We all know I have a weakness for the tech. SUCH a weakness.
Nanner~I thought of you a lot last week when I was making earrings and stitch markers. Can’t make necklaces or bracelets yet, but maybe next year. (And I would love to see a picture of Nate’s present to you - sounds like he’s already got the present choosing down pat!)
I’m so sorry to hear about the hardships. Those iPods are the debil! But I agree with Rick–best. present. evar.
Yeah, I got one too–now I have to feed the monster until I can get my CDs from my ex.
It’s all about iTunes, Julz!
Sounds like a blast!
So did you get it to play MP3s?
BTW, if you laptop is wireless and you share out the directory for music on your PC, you should be able to copy the files over directly to the PC so you can add them to you library in Itunes.
I’ll have to post about our Christmas. It was pretty good, but Christmas dinner was nearly a disaster. Glad you got lots of neat stuff for Christmas.
Vince~You are, as ever, a motherfucking genius. That is going to save so much time having to burn CDs that I don’t have hard copies of (iTunes purchases). In a really freakin’ bizarre twist, the iPod plays the music just fine, it’s just on the PC that there are skips and stuff. Same music, just seems to work better on the iPod. No idea why. (And no, it’s not the speakers, I tried earphones on the computer as well.)
Lisa~And it works!!!! You will have an email coming, thank you for Saturday!
Serra~That SOB hasn’t given you your stuff back yet? What the hell?
