Posted by Julie in : Politically Incorrect , trackbackI would like to salute Jimmy Carter for calling Asshat’s administration the worst in history for its impact around the world. And I would like to shoot the chick on the radio this morning who said “Well, Carter’s approval rating as President was just as bad.”
Let’s review: Jimmy Carter was President when Iran and Iraq had shut off oil production, raising gas prices to new highs. Um, not his fault. Gas prices reached all new highs today because of…oh yeah, that war Dubya started. Completely Asshat’s fault.
Carter was President during the Iran Hostage Crisis. And he worked tirelessly to get the hostages released, even when he knew that he wasn’t going to get anything political out of it (in fact they were released just minutes after Reagan was sworn in), because he is a good human being. Our people being held hostage now? Oh yeah, they’re in that situation because of that war Dubya started. And you don’t see him working for their release.
Economics under Carter, not so good because of OPEC slowing production and residual payments for the Vietnam War, neither of which were his fault. Economics under Asshat, pretty crappy (yeah, sure the job situation looks good - if you want to work at Wal-Mart). Because of that war he started.
Although I was very small when Carter was President, and don’t really remember his term so well, I don’t think there was a war that he started in a place where no one wanted us to begin with killing our people and that country’s people. Whereas Asshat…well, you get the picture. In short, Jimmy Carter = decent President who meant well but had a lot of shit go against him, Asshat = worst President ever entirely through his own doing.
History lesson over.

Sing it sister!!
Most people will agree that in hindsight, the Carter administration was actually a pretty good one. His biggest problem was he wasn’t that good in front of a camera and that he burned himself out.
Another score for Carter: he canceled the B1-B bomber program because he didn’t think the plane worked and that it was a big waste of money. Reagan refunded the project and guess what? The plane didn’t work and had a habit of crashing on the pilot killing everyone on board.
As you mentioned, Carter made good decisions, not political ones. We need more Presidents like him.
I’ve always been impressed with Jimmy, he got a bad rap, undeserved. Bush the Bumbler on the other hand, geez, where do you even begin???
Keep it up Julz!
In 20 years, you won’t see Bush hammering nails for HFH. He may be swinging a golf club, but not a hammer.
Some people have worked hard ALL their lives, some people have been given or stolen what they have.
Yes. Exactly.
Word!
Carter, while not the best president we’ve had at least tried to do all the right things. He got handed a lot of crap right off the bat, and did his level best to deal with them all. He’s still a great man- IMVHO.
Dubya- I get sick just thinking about him. Is it too late to impeach his ass???????????
Well said and Amen Sista!
Lisa~Thanks.
KC~If it’s too late to impeach, is it too early to arrest him and lock him up for the rest of his natural life?
Geewits~
J-Me~Exactly. And I don’t like the ones who haven’t worked hard.
Mom~Just for you.
Se7~I think Jimmy is a true Southern gentleman and a good Christian to boot. And when I say good Christian, I mean the kind that Christians are supposed to aspire to being, not the kind that judges everyone else. I like Jimmy a lot.
Vince~Give me a president who has the country’s best interests in mind instead of his own. Please.
Kim~Yep.
