Done, I think July 21, 2004 ~ 6:48 pm
Posted by Julie in : Daily Grind , comments closedIt’s taken almost 3 hours, but I think everything is back to normal. Now, at 6:50, I will leave my office. I am cramped from huddling over the computer for all this time, and in desparate need of a beer.
If you see that anything important is missing, let me know. Because I will probably go home, change, grab that beer, and get on AIM and MSN Messenger…
Yep, we’ve crashed July 21, 2004 ~ 4:16 pm
Posted by Julie in : Daily Grind , comments closedSo I’m currently using the generic Blogger template. I’ll do my best to get the old stuff back up asap. That’ll teach me not to save the damn template to a hard drive, won’t it?
Blogger woes July 21, 2004 ~ 3:43 pm
Posted by Julie in : Daily Grind , comments closedThis post could crash the blog. Really. I was moving some stuff around on my template, and as per usual, Blogger froze. So now when I try to bring the template up, it doesn’t load. It may be there and hiding, or it may not be there. In which case the next time I republish, the blog could be finito. We’ll see. Somedays, I really hate Blogger.
The Lunchmeat Cowboy July 21, 2004 ~ 1:56 pm
Posted by Julie in : Daily Grind , comments closedMy cat Joe (yeah, he’s named after JTE) is 11. He’s all black, and very vocal, just like a Siamese. Joe has never really had an interest in people food. He might want to lick it, just to feel like he’s not missing anything, but that’s the extent of it. Until the past two weeks.
Suddenly, he’s decided that people food is good. Julie’s having a hotdog? He wants some. And he eats it, which is the surprising thing. I figured I would give him a little piece just to show him he doesn’t want it, but nooo. I had trout, he wanted trout. I gave him some. He’s a cat. He likes fish. Okay. Last night I was muching on a piece of ham, he wanted that. And he yowls to let you know it. His weirdest new taste so far is maple syrup. I have no idea where that came from, but if Jesse can eat Oreos, I guess Joe can eat maple syrup.
I’m not giving him too much of any of these foods, mind you. Just a taste. But he’s eating it, and that’s the weird part. Is he going through a kitty mid-life crisis? I don’t know. But he’s putting the Naked Cowboy to shame “singing” for his food. His singing is why I named him Joe in the first place, come to think of it. It could be worse, I guess. My mom has a cat that eats spaghetti and mashed potatoes. I just live with the Lunchmeat Cowboy.
The Eyes have it. July 21, 2004 ~ 11:37 am
Posted by Julie in : Daily Grind , comments closedWell, I had my two-month visit to my eye doctor today. Let me just start off by saying that the sign hanging above his door outside is a pair of spectacled eyes, and I have never once been able to see them without thinking of a similar sign in Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. “The eyes of Dr….” I wish I could remember the doctor’s name. Help, someone?
Anyway, good news from my doc. Apparently my left eye is back to normal and my right eye is looking a lot better. He said that I don’t have to come back until November, I won’t have to have the punctal occlusion, and as soon as I feel 100% back to normal, I can finally lay off the medicine. I know it will be a while before that happens, but it’s great that there’s finally progress. I mean, the whole corneal erosion thing started way back in October or November…it’s been a long time. But the end is finally in sight (pardon the pun), so I’m happy.
And being able to come into work two hours late this morning also improved my mood. ![]()
