Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you…*mad drumroll*…post #200. *cymbal crash*

I’m not sure if it’s cool that I’ve made 200 posts, or just really sad. I’m hoping it’s the former.

Looong day here. It hasn’t been as stressful as yesterday, for which I’m thankful. Just long. And now we’re in the homestretch with 20 minutes to go.

Tomorrow is the end of my last 4-day work week of Summer ‘04. Next week we’re back to our regularly scheduled 5-day grind. I want to do something cool on Friday, to celebrate. At this point, my definition of cool is either going to Coney Island for the day, eating some Nathan’s hot dogs, riding the Cyclone, swimming, and going to the Freak Show or going to the Bronx Zoo. Coney Island is much closer to my house, but all those things would be more fun if a friend came with me, and I don’t know if I can get that to happen. The Bronx Zoo I could do by myself, but it’s so far away. It would take an hour and twenty minutes to get there on the subway, methinks. And yet, it’s only supposed to be in the mid-70s and sunny that day, which sounds like perfect zoo weather. Plus, I’ve never been there. So help me decide. Where should I go?

Other than that, not much going on. The Youngest started Circus day camp Monday, and immediately fell in love with the trapeze. This is not a surprise, I’ve been calling her a monkey almost the entire time I’ve known her. :) She’s got another two weeks of it, then the camp puts on a mini-circus. All I’m saying is Rick better take videos.

Oh, and I talked to Steph on the phone last night to start planning the September NYC invasion. We were on the phone for three hours! I haven’t been on the phone that long since college. But I had a blast and am definitely looking forward to meeting Steph, Ann, Kimterp, and Suzy Q in person. Oh, and I also talked to Miss Glenda for a few seconds, just long enough to say hi and have her call me “Ju-wie”. She’s so cute! :)
Alright, I’m out of here. So much for post 200!

Glad I could be of use… August 4, 2004 ~ 11:53 am

Two of my office mates just came up to me and asked me what pot smells like. I’m not sure if they asked because I’m the youngest one in the office by 30 years, and thus in touch with the underground culture by default, or if they think I smoke. Hmmm.

But I was able to give them an answer. And that answer is, “Good pot smells sweet, bad pot smells like burning hair.” Put that in your pipe and smoke it. ;)

“We don’t do politics in the Department of Homeland Security,” Mr. Ridge said.

Yeah, and I can sell you the Brooklyn Bridge for a really reasonable price. It’s Washington, Tommy. Everybody and their maiden aunt does politics.
