I Spit On Your Grave: Review

I Spit On Your Grave: Review

This film is a remake of a film of the same name that was released in 1978. Although dubbed as one of the worst films ever made, in fact, the new version is quite successful in terms of material. But critics still assess this film as bad as the original version. The story is about revenge for a rape case. A writer who deliberately withdrew to write his new book was raped by several men in turns. When he sought help from the police, he was raped again. He managed to escape and tried to get revenge on the perpetrators.

Although this film might be considered interesting to the audience because the victim’s character is initially weak turned into strong and resisting, but there are concerns that arise. It could be that the audience misinterpreted the rape scene as “entertainment” and actually liked it. Of course, this film also offers brutality when victims terrorize the perpetrators one by one to rape one of them back. Of course, sexual violence cannot be justified even though the victim is only trying to get back at the culprit.
